The accessWidget interface loads slowly

accessWidget is designed to load asynchronously with your site. This means it will only load and appear after your page has fully uploaded. This approach has two benefits:

  1. To help make the entire website accessible, not just specific parts.
  2. To prevent  any impact on your site's speed or performance.

Since accessWidget is the last element to load, you won't see the icon or functionality until your website has fully displayed. The accessWidget system itself takes 0.2 seconds to load on any domain, so the total load time of your site, affects when accessWidget appears.

For example: If your site loads in 4 seconds, accessWidget will appear in 4.2 seconds. If your site loads in 8 seconds, then accessWidget will appear in 8.2 seconds.

How to check your site's load time

To check your site's load time, we recommend using a site called Pingdom. You can find a direct link to it here.
